Lhomithi, Whiskers, Blue Star enter semi-final

Defending, former champions and runners-up of Silver Cup from Dimapur district – Whiskers Cricket Club, Lhomithi Sporting Club and Blue Star have once again entered into the semi-finals of the tourney at Kohima Local ground here today.
Playing the first quarter final, two-time champions Lhomithi SC defeated Kohima Hornbills by 2 wickets. Lhomithi SC won the toss and elected to field restricting Kohima Hornbills at 84 runs in 18 overs with Abijit scoring 25 and Sanjib 24.
In reply Lhomithi managed to win the match in 17 overs with batsman Raj scoring 24 and Dipankar 19 runs.
Lhomithi bowler Mridul took wickets wicket and was awarded man of match.In the close-shave second match of the day, defending champions Whiskers CC defeated Juggernauts by 2 wickets. Winning the toss, Juggernauts elected to bat and set a target of 134 runs in 19.2 overs. Neba Jyoti contributed highest 53 runs while Hirak scored 22 runs.
In reply Whiskers CC managed to win in complete 20 overs with Bitu and Sedezhalie scoring 25 runs each while Onen scored 24 runs. Sanker of Whiskers CC was adjudged man of the match for claiming 3 rival wickets.
In the last match of the day, former runners-up Blue Star defeated Unicorn Warriors through the first six overs run-rate as rain played spoilsports in the second innings.
Blue Star won the toss and elected to bat and declaring the target of 196 runs in just 17.2 overs losing just 7 wickets. Their star batsman Michael scored 61 runs, Jalal 43 runs and Kundan 34 runs respectively. Unicorn bowler Vitoshi took 4 wickets.
In reply Unicorn were standing at 82 runs losing 5 runs in 12 overs, however rain stopped the game. Their batsman Zalie scored 16 runs and Toshi 14 runs. And because of unable ground condition the match had to be decided considering the run-rate of first six overs, giving Blue Star the semi-final berth.
Michael of Blue Star was declared man of match for 61 runs and taking 3 rival wickets.
