Dimapur, July 25 (EMN): Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek is likely to launch a new Dimensity 1300T chipset, according to an article by GSMArena.

On its blog page, GSMArena claims that a press release document was leaked by industry insiders and that the leaked document provides “credible” information on MediaTek’s new Dimensity 1300T SoC like release date, performance and specifications.

As per leaks, the Dimensity 1300T is expected to use TSMC‘s 6nm manufacturing node and integrate ARM’s Cortex-A78 CPU cores. However, there is no official information yet on the base speed, configuration or core count of the new MediaTek chipset.

However, the new SoC will be packed with 9 GPU cores, which we can only assume will be the same Mali-G77 MC9 setup as the Dimension 1200.

The leaked document also revealed information that the new MediaTek SoC is apparently aimed at mobile gaming, complete with a recently-upgraded MediaTek HyperEngine for game optimisation.

Recently, the company unveiled two new chipsets in the Helio G series: Helio G96 and Helio G88 SoCs. The company stated that these SoCs were designed to provide smooth displays, intuitive OS experiences and elite photography features.

Considering that the company had just launched new SoCs, it is odd for MediaTek to unveil another SoC for the current market. However, the leaked documents do confirm that the Dimensity 1300T will debut on Honor’s new tablet, the Honor V7 Pro, and not only that, Honor will have exclusive rights to the chip for six months.
