Leaders mourn Sushma Swaraj’s demise

Dimapur, Aug. 7 (EMN): State BJP president, Temjen Imna Along, has mourned the demise of Sushma Swaraj, former minister of External Affairs and senior BJP stalwart, who passed away of cardiac arrest on the evening of August 6 at AIIMS in New Delhi.

In a condolence message, Temjen Imna Along has described Sushma Swaraj as a prolific parliamentarian who devoted her entire life to public service, championing the cause of the poor, for which she was revered and admired by one and all, cutting across party lines.

“She was an uncompromising soul and a force to reckon with when it come to matters of ideology and principles of the Bharatiya Janata Party,” he stated.

He lamented that in her passing, the BJP party has loss one of its finest leader. He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

In a separate statement, State Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton, has mourned the demise of Sushma Swaraj. Patton has described Sushma as a firebrand parliamentarian, a lawyer and an orator besides being a senior BJP leader.

He lamented that the nation has lost a tall leader and a visionary. He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.
