KVYO demands Lokayukta Bill

Dimapur, Sep. 26 (EMN): While supporting the resolution of ACAUT sponsored public rally of August 25 held in Dimapur, Kohima Village Youth Organisation (KVYO) has demanded the State government to set up Lokayukta Bill in the State Assembly by September 2017 and to terminate all backdoor appointments made in every government departments after June 6, 2016.

KVYO made this appeal during a joint meeting with ACAUT Nagaland today in its office in Kohima. The five-member ACAUT team led by co-convenor Joel Naga apprised KVYO office bearers led by its president Medozhatuo Rutsa on the contentious issues confronting the State in general. The two organisations also dwelled at length on the resolutions adopted at the August 25 ACAUT public rally held in Dimapur.

While considering the increasing cases of corruption without any check and balance in the functioning of the government, KVYO vice president Dzuvinguzo Mepfhuo has stressed on the need to set up Lokayukta in the State. Supporting the public rally resolution, KVYO has demanded introduction of of Lokayukta Bill in the State Assembly by September 2017.

KVYO also insisted upon the State government to immediately fulfil the public demand by termination of all backdoor appointments made in every government departments after June 6, 2016.

It further demanded the government to uphold the P&AR order and requisition all such vacant posts to the NPSC for competitive examinations.
