DIMAPUR — The Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) has urged the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to expedite the ongoing road repair works in Mon town.
Expressing its concern, the student union said in a press release that the current state of the roads has caused significant inconvenience to the public, severely affecting access to essential services and impeding the smooth movement of vehicles.
‘In particular, the road leading to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office is in an dire state, with numerous potholes and broken sections making it nearly impassable,’ read the press release.
The KSU urged the district administration to take immediate action by repairing the roads and filling the potholes, ensuring safe and accessible routes for the public.
It also called upon the NHIDCL to prioritise road development within the town circle and complete the necessary work as early as possible.
Further, the KSU reiterated its commitment towards the well-being and safety of the people of Mon and the Konyaks in general, adding that it would continue to monitor the situation closely.
