Kohima Law College conducts moot court

Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): As part of its annual event, Kohima Law College conducted moot court in the college premises on April 13. Moot court is one of the important annual events to let LL.B students participate at least in three moot problem of civil, criminal and international cases.

Professor-in-charge of clinical education, Kezhokhoto Savi stated that the purpose of organising moot court was to help the law students become a successful lawyer in future. He added that students learn the good knowledge of legal language, good knowledge of speaking, good knowledge of appearance before the court and good knowledge of common sense and behaviour through the moot court.

Savi further stated that a lawyer requires three essential pillars namely integrity, hard work and honesty to be successful and trusted counsel in modern society.

An update from the college’s media cell explained that moot court means an artificial court of the students. It gives confidence to the students to conduct cases in future when they are called upon to do so in their professional life.

At moot court, students are asked to argue on points of law. They are require to develop their argumental skill and art of preparation and presentation of legal documents. Moot court develops professional skill of the students and play a meaningful role in their future life. It added that moot court is part of Bar Council of India practical papers/clinical course.
