Kohima board clears April agenda

Dimapur, April 22 (EMN): The monthly meeting of the Kohima District Planning and Development Board for the month of April was conducted on April 22.
The government’s publicity agency, the Information and Public Relations (IPR) department, issued updates on April 22 informing about the details of the meeting.
The deputy commissioner of Kohima, Anoop Khinchi, presided over the meeting. He thanked the officials and members of the board for their efforts and cooperation to successfully conduct the Lok Sabha election for 2019.

While reviewing the previous meeting’s minutes, the board decided on the last date for submission of the adoption committee reports, on May 15.

In this regard, the additional deputy commissioner of Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, who is also the convenor of the core committee, informed that the report would not be accepted after the fixed date.

On the agenda of registration of societies, the committee’s convenor, Subdivision officer Shaying Sheu informed the board that the committee had found ‘some anomalies in some applicants.’

In this connection, the deputy commissioner suggested checking the proposed additional criteria whether it was under the preview of the Registration Act “and further decided to take up the matter in the next DPDB meeting,” the IPR explained.

During the meeting, the general manager of the DIC for Kohima, A Temjen Jamir, gave an overview of his department’s activities and action plan for 2019. He said that the DIC of Kohima functions as a single window interacting agency at the district level by providing service and support to small entrepreneurs.

Jamir also highlighted various schemes under state incentive schemes and North East Industrial Development Scheme implemented by the department.

Other highlights he gave was about activities carried out by the DIC at the grassroots some of which include beekeeping in Viswema, stenography training under the Rural Artisan Program; the Prime Minister Employment Generation Program; and the R Soma Handicraft Cluster-CFC etc.
