Kohima, Sep. 11 (EMN): An allegedly drunk driver rammed into at least eight cars with his pick-up truck along High School road in Kohima Monday afternoon. However, no injury was reported.
According to police sources, the pick-up truck rammed three cars near High School Junction and continued to move up towards main town and hit five other cars near Bazaar India. Traffic flow in the capital town was affected for a while due to the incident.
“It was a case of rash and drunken driving. Fortunately, no one got injured as most of the cars that were hit were stationary/parked on the roadsides with no one inside,” a police personnel who was present at the site during the incident told Eastern Mirror.
The pick-up is stated to belong to the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC). The driver, Shumeto alias Chingkang, has been arrested and a case registered in the North Police Station, it was informed.
