Kilenkala Longkumer qualifies for national shooting selection trials
Dimapur, Dec. 10 (EMN): Kilenkala Temsukaba Longkumer has qualified for the upcoming national selection trials starting January 2023, according to the Nagaland Rifle Association (NRA).
NRA stated that Longkumer and M Tiatemjen Jamir participated in the recently concluded 65th National Shooting Championship Competitions (NSCC) 2022 held at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, where the former scored 612.4 and the latter 601.3.
Consequently, based on her performance, the former was selected for the trials which will determine entry into the Indian squad for international and Olympic competitions, it said.
It said that both the shooters took up the sports recently by joining Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy (ARAPSA) in 2021. ARAPSA, located at NST Colony, Dimapur, was designated as a “Khelo India Centre” by the Sports Authority of India, Department of Youth Resources and Sports on May 1, 2021.
