Khezhakeno celebrates the elderly

Phek, Oct. 2 (EMN): Marking International Day of Older Persons, Chüketshe Society (CKS) organized a retreat for elderly persons at CRC-Upper, Khezhakeno village in Phek district on October 1 with the theme ‘valuing age.’

Timikha Koza, president of the Tenyimi People’s Organisation (TPO), attended the occasion as its guest speaker.

He was stated to have urged the elderly to have a positive outlook and to continue to be steadfast in the quest to guide the younger generations in the path of truth and honour.

Koza urged them to never cease bestowing their blessings upon the village, community and society, the updates stated.

Khezhekeno’s Extra Additional Commissioner Vithwel Kweho and Chakhesang Students’ Union’s president Lavoto Chizo also attended the event.

Altogether, 55 elderly persons attended the programme, the updates stated.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Pfükupe Chikha, and the welcome address was delivered by Medovelo Koza, president of Chüketshe Society.

Rev. Dr. Vetso Koza, pastor of Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima prayed for the elderly persons, the updates stated.
