Kezevituo’s lone goal puts Naga Utd in semis

Naga United Club is the second team to book berth for the semi-finals of the ongoing NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy organized by Angami Students’ Union under the theme Goal for Peace at Kohima Local Ground.Playing a close-shave match yesterday, Naga United defeated District Execution Force (DEF) Kohima by a solitary goal.
Both sides seemed equally competent to hold back their rivals, while DEF Kohima almost found the lead within the forth minute as a clearance header by Naga United defender headed for the nets but the ball bounded slightly over the cross bar giving them a sigh of relief. In the 13th minute Saphrel Angami of NU was marked with a yellow card for unsporting behavior.
Before the lemon break, both sides made at least two-three attempts each but were unable to materialize any only to be on loggerheads without any goals.
In second half too neither sides managed any to surpass their rival defence lines, unless in the 71st minute wherein Kezevituo nicely collecting a pass from Asito Angami inside the box managed to beat DEF Kohima custodian.
Thereafter, they continued to hold and win the match with the solitary goal. In the semi-final, Naga Club would clash against Southern ASU on October 16.
DIG Headquarters, Kewetso Mero, IPS and also president of Chakhesang Gazetted Officers Forum graced the match as patron and also gave away the player of the match award to Ashito Angami of Naga United.
