Kewhimia Union Dimapur general meet held

Dimapur, June 11 (EMN): Kewhimia Union Dimapur (KUD) held its first general meeting for the tenure 2017-2020 at Kudawhi Guest House, Dimapur on June 9.
During the meeting, the house approved the draft constitution presented by the draft committee Convener and former first KUD President, Akou Suokhrie. Members also resolved that the union logo will be decided through an open competition in KUD official Whatsapp group within the members with cash prize for the top three winners. Last entry date will be July 15.
The house also elected Neivotsolie Mich as vice president, Dziese Whuorie as property secretary, Veikeduo Linyü as publicity & information Secretary. The meeting resolved to constitute a youth body by the name Kewhimia Youth Krotho, under the supervision and coordination of David Sekhose, area representative. Following members namely; Thejangulie Kire, Akhrietuo, Mhasibeituo Khezhie and Kenei Zatsu were proposed to initiate the krotho to a fully fledged body on or before July 25.
The members also elected Pelhoubalie Khezhie, Vizovolie Kratsiitsü and Khrieketuolie Suohu for Audit Committee.
Addressing business hour session, KUD president, K.James Vizo appreciated the members for participating in the meeting proceedings and unanimously agreeing in bringing out the KUD constitution in a form. He informed that KUD was established in later part of 90s. Despite the best efforts and sacrifices rendered by the senior predecessors, he lamented that KUD is still lacking behind in its organisational base due to various factors such as complacent attitude, lack of communication network and other factors. However, he said this can be corrected once the members change their attitude. He also appealed to other KUD members who could not attend the meeting to participate in future events, as KUD’s priority is to safeguard and promote the interest of its members’ welfare in particular, irrespective of its sex, age and professions and to maintain goodwill and harmony with all sections of people of Dimapur in general.
Senior member, Pelhoubalie Khezhie also exhorted the gathering.
Meanwhile, KUD also informed that it will be organising workshop for the youths.
