Diphu, June 11 (EMN):
Along with other parts of the country, Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee (KADCC) organised a protest against the price hike on petrol and diesel at Assam Oil Depot in Diphu town on June 11.

Speaking to media persons, KADCC vice president Ratan Engti said they have staged a protest infront of Assam Oil depot in Diphu. He lamented that hike in prices of fuel have severely affected the common people particularly during this Covid pandemic where many families have lost their loved ones.

According to him, the protest was organised to convey message to the BJP government to consider matter of public grievances as prices of food commodities have skyrocketed with the hike in the prices of petrol and diesel. He added that petrol and diesel in Diphu now cost INR 92.90 and INR 87.44 per litre respectively.

“If BJP government is for common people, then the prices of all essential commodities should be rolled back. In Assam, people have voted for BJP and let them form the government in order to solve the grievances of the common people. Now it is harassing the common people, that is why we have organised a protest all over India today,’ Engti said.
