KAAC celebrates World Environment Day with plantation drive

Diphu, June 5 (EMN): Commemorating World Environment Day, the chief executive member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang along with his colleagues planted tree saplings at Arboretum-cum-craft centre on June 5.
The programme was organised by the Forest department, Karbi Anglong on the theme– “Ecosystem Restoration”.

Speaking at the occasion, the CEM said, “Together with all elected representatives of KAAC including MP and MLAs, we have jointly observed the World Environment Day in order to conserve nature. We will work in unity with all the ‘Team Karbi Anglong’ members for restoration of forest and environment so that trees and other natural resources are protected”.
About the signing of peace accord with various insurgent outfits of Karbi Anglong, the CEM said ‘very soon the peace agreement will be signed and for that, the chief minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is in Delhi with the central government’.
‘The education department comprising commissioner, principal secretary, director and other officials from Guwahati will be arriving at Diphu after June 15. We can discuss the problems of education in Karbi Anglong. From Polytechnic, SSA, RMSA, elementary education, secondary and higher education including technical education and adult education all matters concerning education will be discussed with them. The issue of Karbi Language Teachers, conduct of special TET exam and provincialisation act will be discussed properly and will be implemented accordingly’, Ronghang said.
