[dropcap]G[/dropcap]ANGNAM Style singer Psy has admitted he is a huge boozer who calls vodka his “best friend”.
South Korea’s biggest star, 35 – who also has a weakness for whisky and tequila – started bingeing as he struggled to cope with global fame.He said: “If I’m happy, I’m drinking. If I’m sad, I’m drinking. If it’s raining, I’m drinking. If it’s sunny, I’m drinking. If it’s hot, I’m drinking. If it’s cold, I’m drinking.”
Psy added that he is hungover “a lot”.
It emerged in the wake of the song’s release that Psy had been jailed in Korea for just under a month in 2001 for marijuana possession.
And speaking about his stint in jail for the first time, he said it was a “horrible fall”.
He added: “But as an artist, the more experience, the better the creation. I’m a very positive person. So if s*** happens, I think maybe this happens because a huge amount of happiness is coming to me.”
Psy also revealed he has performed Gangnam Style 1,000 times in 20 different countries in the last year – and has not seen his wife and their twin five-year-old daughters since April.
