DIMAPUR — Chümoukedima district branch of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) was inaugurated by Abeni TCK Lotha, chairperson of Nagaland Branch IRCS at the DC office complex on June 27.
An update from IRCS Chümoukedima stated that the programme was chaired by Vichutuolie Mere, while the invocation prayer was said by Keviyato Whiso and the welcome address was delivered by Vekuto Swu.
Speaking on the occasion, Abeni TCK Lotha, has underlined the importance of humanitarian work in the present world and the various functions of the Red Cross Society. She also expressed gratitude to the deputy commissioner of Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam for giving a big space for the district branch office.
The deputy commissioner of Chümoukedima and district president of IRCS, Abhinav Shivam, has highlighted the need and importance of Red Cross in the society and its role.
A song was presented by the Youth Red Cross of Patkai Christian College.
In her keynote address, Akhale V Khamo, IRCS general secretary of Nagaland branch, shared about the activities of the Red Cross in different districts in Nagaland and also announced that Red Cross funding is only through donations.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Mhiesitsolie Khate.
The newly formed Indian Red Cross Society Chümoukedima district branch would be led by the deputy commissioner as president, chief medical officer as vice president, Vichutuolie Mere as chairman, K Naben as vice chairman, Mhiesitsolie Khate as honourary secretary, Vekuto Swu as treasurer, Keviyato Whiso as management committee member, along with Bendangchuba Ao, Sedevikho Tsukru, Kuzuto Yepthomi, Niuto Chishi, Khrietuo Yhoshu, Talimeren Imsong, and Dr. Prem Kumar as managing committee members.
