Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight launched in Peren

Dimapur, June 27 (EMN): District Health Society (DHS) Peren launched Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) at Jalukie Women Welfare Hall and across all health units in the district on Monday.

Dr. Limakum Aier, Dy.CMO Peren delivered a short speech in which he spoke on the key actions and prevention of diarrhoea. He stressed on the importance and use of ORS and zinc during diarrhoeal episodes among children and assured that it is a safe treatment which makes the child recover from diarrhoea faster.

Keynote address was delivered by Dr. Kiholi, DPO (RCH & UIP), Peren. She gave an overview on IDCF which will commence from June 27 till July 11 across all health units in the district.

During the fortnight, ORS and zinc will be distributed to children along with their mothers/care-givers suffering from diarrhoea and demonstration on preparation of homemade ORS and awareness on prevention of diarrhoea to parents/caregivers will be held at all health units.
