INR 335 crore NSDMA fund in two years

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio informed that the total amount sanctioned under Nagaland State Disaster Management (NSDMA) for 2018-19 and 2019-20 was INR 142.07 crore and INR 193.40 crore respectively.

Rio, who is also minister in-charge of NSDMA, stated this in a reply to a starred question during the monsoon session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on August 13.

He added that the funds were released to the district disaster management authorities, based on the occurrences of disaster events and reports received from the districts.

A total of INR 6,85,86,980 (inclusive of all districts) was released as relief assistance to families whose houses were damaged due to natural calamities for the year 2018-19. A total of INR 4,14,13020 was released to SDRF for management and operation of SDMA and DDMAs. Other miscellaneous pilot projects for strengthening of SDMA and DDMAs incurred INR 34,70,000, the reply stated.

The district-wise expenditure under NDRF during 2018-19 stands at INR 130.73 crore, including gratuitous relief to those affected by natural calamities, debris clearance by landslide and other line departments.

The budget sanctioned during 2019-2020 was INR 26.62 crore in total. The budget sanctioned for other relief activities, including gratuitous relief to the affected by natural calamities, debris clearance by landslide and other line departments during 2019-2020 was INR 149.90 crore in total.

The relief assistance under SDRF for families affected by natural calamities (agri and allied and others) for the year 2019-20 stands at INR 12 crore. Another INR 4.88 crore was released for strengthening of SDMA and landslide risk mitigation pilot projects.
