Illegal liquor seized in Mokokchung, three persons arrested

Mokokchung, Sep. 14 (EMN): A huge quantity of illegal liquor was seized on separate occasions in Tuli area under Mokokchung district over the last few days, informed the police on Monday.

An update from the superintendent of police Mokokchung stated that a combined team of Tuli Police and 13 NAP (IR) personnel seized 112 canned beer from a Maruti van while conducting MVCP at Tuli Town area on last Saturday.

In this connection, the driver of the vehicle one Sentiwati, 43, was arrested.

Based on specific input, the police conducted a raid in and around Tuli area where a Tata Sumo was intercepted and recovered 115 bottles of illegal McDowells Rum, it informed.

Two persons namely Merennukshi, 49, and Imnajungshi, 28, were arrested and a case has been registered at Tuli Police Station under section 41/44 (a) (e) NLTP Act, it added.
