ICAR agri. business incubation organises meet on promotion of agro-products in NE
Dimapur, Oct. 8 (EMN): Agriculture Business Incubation (ABI), ICAR Research Complex for NEH region, Umiam organised a one-day business meet on promotion of specialty agro-products in Northeastern region on Friday.
An update informed that the programme aimed to promote specialty products, produced by the entrepreneurs of the Northeastern region, to scientifically validate and understand the business plan on the specialty products. More than 75 entrepreneurs from the NE attended the meet.
It stated that the chief guest, Dr. K B Sahkhar, Director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department, govt. of Meghalaya appreciated the works of ABI and urged Agri-preneurs of the region to harness maximum support and opportunities from the centre.
An MoU was signed between Na Ri and ICAR in the presence of L S Shangpliang, MD of Na Ri, Directorate of Dairy Development, govt. of Meghalaya for the promotion of products and technology of ICAR and Na Ri dairy in the sale counter of ICAR NEH. While the special guest, B K Sohliya, Executive Advisor to the Meghalaya Farmers (Empowerment) Commission emphasised on the importance of entrepreneurship in the region, it said.
The ABI, ICAR also launched an Android mobile app with distinguished features, which will help to reduce the information gap among the entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs attending the meet had the opportunity to launch their innovative products, it read.
It added that a technical session was also held to discuss the quality, packaging and labeling of the products, marketing outreach strategies along with various constraints and their remedial measures.
