HVHSS holds golden jubilee curtain raiser programme

MOKOKCHUNG — The Hill View Higher Secondary School (HVHSS), one of the oldest schools in Mokokchung, held its golden jubilee curtain raiser programme at the school campus on June 17.
Special invitee of the programme, Subongtsungba Longkumer, said that school is much more than just the bricks and steel with which it is built. Just as a body has a soul, he stated that school has its people and without their energy and passion, it is only a shell.
Longkumer, who is also an alumnus of the school, urged the students to express gratitude to their teachers, friends and family for the help by enabling them to grow. He also urged the students to enjoy and have passion for the present because it would remind them to cherish the difficult moments and treasure their relationship.
To the teacher, he challenged them to enjoy their work and have passion to teach and mould the young minds. He urged them to equip the students with the right knowledge and to build and strengthen their relationship with the students.
As the school would celebrate its golden jubilee next year, he challenged the students, teachers and all the people working in the school to have a vision for the school. He also called upon the members to remember the struggle, challenges, achievement and how they found hope and happiness by working together.
The school principal, Dr. Anungla Aier, also reminded the students, teacher and parents that everyone has a role to play for the uplift of the school and society by discharging their role with responsibility and accountability.
She informed that the school started in Mopungchuket village and has come to be well known in Mokokchung district today for producing many successful students since its inception.
The formal programme was followed by entertainment session where the students participated in action songs, fancy dress, dance, stomping and musical play.
