Hornbill CC and Royal Strikers enter semi finals

Wokha, Dec. 30: The second quarter final match in the ongoing Winter Cricket Challenge, Kohima Hornbill CC defeated LCYO by 28 runs to secure a place in the semi finals of the tournament.
Hornbill CC had won the toss and elected to bat securing 173 in the 20 overs limitation losing 5 wickets.
The teams top scorers were Tapitu on 45 runs, Barjis on 33 and Ananto on 31.
In the second innings with LCYO batting, Chumben scored 31 Runs, Yingathung 22 Runs and Zuchamo 21 Runs but were 28 runs short at the end of the innings.
Akash collected 3 wickets and Moakumzuk with 2 wickets for team Kohima Hornbill CC.
Tapitu of Kohima Hornbill CC was adjudged Man of The Match with a mark of 45 Runs facing just 20 balls with Seven 4’s.Later in the day the quarter final match played between Shoorveer 28 AR Vs Royal Strikers CC that witnessed the biggest upset in the current tournament with the Royal Strikers CC showing the door to Shoorveer 28 AR bowling them out in just 9 overs.
The Royal Strikers had won the toss and elected to bat scoring 169 losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Opener Jubin knocked 65 in 39 balls with 6 fours, 4 sixes and was assisted by teammates Sajid with 28 and Roshan who scored 29 runs.
Shoorveer 28 AR were however in for a shock when they lost all their wickets in 9 overs with Vickey and Jubin of the Royal Strikers claiming 3 wickets each.
Jubin of Royal Strikers who had scored 65, with 3 wickets in an economy of just 8 Runs in 3 overs of his bowling was adjudged the Man of the Match.
