Hornbill angling competition concludes

Dimapur, Dec. 8 (EMN): The 4th Nagaland Angling Festival organised by the department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, in collaboration with Anglers’ Association Mokokchung (AAM) at Star Fisheries in Japu village under Mokokchung district concluded on December 7.

The special guest and additional deputy commissioner of Mangkolemba, T Lankosen Tsanglao, congratulated the department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources and AAN for successfully organising the angling festival. The ADC also encouraged the village councils to focus on preserving the rivers and the forest resources.

The director of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Rongsenungba, emphasised on promotion of angling as a sport in Nagaland. He shared that proper attention should be given to the sport as it helps in conserving and preserving the environment and rivers as a whole.

Meanwhile, the AAN general secretary, Mhonbemo Ngullie, gave away the prizes to the winners.

The chairman of Japu Village Council, in his speech, thanked the organisers and the participants for organising the programme in the village and assured that the people of the village would always welcome and cooperate in such activities.
