Hit and run case: No arrests yet

Dimapur, May 29 (EMN): No arrest has been made so far in the hit and run case of May 26 where a 20-year-old student was hit by a speeding vehicle and later succumbed to her injuries.

Officer in-charge of Traffic Control Zone II Dimapur, Peter Shuya, informed Eastern Mirror that investigation was still going on and the culprit was absconding.

The tragic incident occurred when Mapuienla, a BA (Psychology and Counseling) II semester student at St. Joseph University, was returning to her hostel near the college entry road at Ikishe village.

The girl was admitted at Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research(CIHSR) in a critical condition at around 5 pm on May 25 with multiple internal injuries. She later succumbed to her injuries between 1:30 am to 2 am on May 26.

According to the Dimapur Police report, the incident occurred at around 2:30 pm on Wednesday near the college entrance point, and an FIR had been filed at Diphupar Police Station.
