Kohima, Dec 17 (EMN): The challenge to pay heed to the call of the Lord for the Great Commission and become disciples marked the ongoing silver jubilee celebration of Koinonia Baptist Church (KBC) on day-two. The celebration is being held at NBCC Convention Centre in Kohima.

The evening service on Saturday, the director of Agapia Social Centre, Rev. Joy Lalsangkima, was the speaker. In his sermon, he shared message on discipleship. He challenged the gathering to have passion in saving the perishing souls, who are otherwise bombarded with wrong doctrines and misleading teaching of the Gospel.

The speaker expounded on Mathew 11: 28, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest,” which according to him is the message of salvation from God. He also exhorted the members to seek God with all their problems sickness and pains to get healing and deliverance.

He challenged the congregation not to be static in their faith but further progress by citing Bible verse from John 8: 31-32, “If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Lalsangkima also told the members in attendance that to be disciples, one needs to be selfless and put Jesus first in winning more souls for the kingdom of God.

Greetings were delivered by Solomon Waskar from Maharashtra, wherein he called upon the congregation to be faithful to the Lord and fulfill the great commission and bear the burden to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The evening service was led by Medotsilieu Kiewhuo, KBC pastor, while the jubilee choir, youth and junior CYE choir and Deborah Group presented songs.

Earlier during the day, there was a ‘Jubilee Concert and Talents Celebration,’ wherein Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo, founder and senior pastor, exhorted the gathering.

On Sunday, the worship service would be held at 10 am with Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuoas the speaker. In the evening, Dr. Rev. Batkupar Dunai, senior pastor of Cathedral of Praise Now Generation Outreach Revival Assembly from Shillong in Meghalaya, would be the speaker.
