Healthcare workers asked to avail Covid-19 vaccine

Dimapur, Feb. 7 (EMN): Expressing concern on the low coverage of Covid-19 vaccination drive among the healthcare workers in the district, the deputy chief medical officer, Peren, Dr. Lanuakum urged the healthcare workers to avail the vaccine and also sensitise the public about the vaccine especially during the VHNDs in the villages.

He stated this during the district review meeting held on February 5 in the conference hall of the chief medical officer’s (CMO) office at New Peren headquarters, an update from CMO office stated.

He further requested and encouraged the block programme and block accounts managers to cooperate and coordinate in uploading the RCH portal. He also highlighted and reminded about Ayushman Bharat and the decision made during the planning board meeting in DC’s office.

Also speaking at the meeting, DPM Elizabeth thanked all the staff involved during the IPPI for their active participation and collective efforts in achieving 95% in the district. She also requested the healthcare workers to collect the exact headcount in order to achieve its required target.

She also highlighted the upcoming Intensified Mission Indradhanush, wherein the first round would be concentrated in Jalukie and Tening blocks. She has underlined the importance of IMI as many children and pregnant women were left out in the previous year due to the pandemic.

She also reminded the community health officers (CHO) to check their non-communicable reports (NCD) and tally with the HMIS report and further asked all healthcare workers to tally their monthly HMIS, immunisation and RCH reports before submission.

Brief report and awareness on leprosy was presented by Asibo, NLEP, while Vime, consultant NVBDCP, highlighted about the ongoing programme on long lasting insecticides treated bed nets (LLIN) and requested all healthcare workers to sensitise about the use and its importance.

The meeting was attended by the district programme officers, nurses, pharmacist, DAPCU staff, district and block programme management unit staff of NHM.

The next review meeting has been scheduled on March 5.
