Health department perseveres to contain Covid-19 infection

Phesama, Oct. 24 (EMN): Considering the risk factor involved particularly in the upcoming bye-elections to the 14-Southern Angami-1 and the 60-Pungro-Kiphire assembly constituencies, the state Health department has been carrying out awareness programmes to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Interacting with Eastern Mirror, Rukusanu Rhetso, community health officer (CHO) of Pfüchama health and wellness centre (HWC), informed that on October 24, they had sensitised the leaders from the students community, youth and women organisations, anganwadi and ASHA workers and village council of Phesama and Pfüchama as part of Covid-19 awareness programme under 14-Southern Angami-I A/C.
Dr. Lozinu, medical officer of Kimipfiiphe PHC, and Dr. Asano, medical officer of Jakhama PHC, informed that about 75% of Covid-19 cases were currently detected through contract tracing.
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, the officials have reminded the villagers to continue taking preventive measures by maintaining social distancing, wearing masks and strictly adhering to government’s prescribed SOPs.
It was informed that two doctors had carried out awareness campaign ahead of the election, covering villages in the constituency including Kigwema, Jakhama, Mima and Mitelephe.
