Guv, CM mourn Dr Kire’s death

GOVERNOR Dr Ashwani Kumar and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have condoled the death of Dr. Khrielieu Kire who passed away at her Kohima residence on September 11.
In a condolence message, the Governor, who is on a three-day official tour to Phek district, said, “I am deeply grieved to learn about the demise of Dr Khrielieu Kire, first honorary Secretary of Nagaland State Red Cross Society and also the first Naga Lady Doctor.” He said during her career, she served the people of Nagaland in various capacities both as a medical professional and also as a social worker and her death is an irreparable loss to the State of Nagaland.
The governor also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty to grant grace to the departed soul.
The Chief Minister, in a condolence message to V Kire, said Dr Khrielieu Kire, who served as the Director of the Health Services of the State, contributed immensely to the development of health services in the State. He also said she was not only actively involved with the health sector but was also equally active in social services.
Describing her as a pioneer in many areas of social service, Rio, who is out of station, said her death has created a void in the Naga society, specially for the Angami tribe.
The CM conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to give them strength to tide over the irreparable loss. He also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
