Governor greets Konyak and Phom communities
Dimapur, April 1 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has extended his greetings to the Konyak and Phom communities on the occasion of Aoling and Phom Monyiu Festival.
The Governor said in a statement that the festivals mark the end of the sowing season and is a time for jubilation through dance, songs, food and thanks giving to the deities while seeking good fortune and blessings.
He called on both communities to take time and thank the Almighty for His unwavering love and blessing. He also asked everyone to “thank the farmers who work hard to provide for us and to remember them for their hard work.” He said that all should work towards safeguarding and promoting the rich culture and traditions through the festivals.
“May the festival of Aoling and Phom Monyiu bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Konyak and Phom communities in particular and Nagas in general,” he added.
