Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland and Assam, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Good Friday and Easter.

“Good Friday is a day of adoration and absolution. It is a day of victory for good over evil. As the gospel says ‘While we were still sinners Christ died for us all’, He died on the Cross so that humankind can live in peace and harmony.

“While Easter is celebrated in memory of the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ, let us remember that it symbolises ‘hope’. Hope for a new beginning preceded with a sacrifice made out of pure love. Jesus revealed his pure love for all mankind with selfless sacrifice.  His resurrection demonstrates victory of love over hate,” the governor’s message read.

Mukhi also urged to renew one’s determination to follow His examples of ‘peace, love and forgiveness’. “I hope the celebration of Easter will renew us all with the assurance of hope, healing, salvation and everlasting joy and May the true spirit of Good Friday be with all of us in thoughts and in action.

I wish you all a blessed Good Friday and a happy Easter. God bless Nagaland!” it read.
