Dimapur, April 12 (EMN): Nagaland Governor, PB Acharya, has greeted the Hindus, Assamese, Malayali, and Bengali communities living in Nagaland in particular and people in general on the occasion of Rama Navami, Rongali Bihu, Vishu and Vaisakhi festivals.
He stated that Rama Navami is observed by the Hindus to celebrate the birthday of lord Rama. Stating that lord Rama was an embodiment of great virtues and the highest values, Acharya hoped that his example guides all on the path of noble deeds.
Conveying his greetings, he hoped that the festivals be a harbinger of a new dawn of warm and harmonious relationship, peace, prosperity and progress in the state. Stating that all these festivals are cultural identities of different states, he implored to keep such cultural identities alive.
Also stating that celebration of festivals unite people and promote diversity regardless of their religions or backgrounds, he called upon the people to become agents of change in building a stronger nation.
The Governor further expressed hope that the celebration of the festivals would reinforce love and goodwill among the people and also bring with it peace and prosperity for the people of the country.
