Dimapur, April 22 (EMN): The government of India’s interlocutor for Naga peace talks, AK Mishra, met with the leaders of NSCN (IM) at Chümoukedima Police Complex on Friday in an attempt to break the stalemate in negotiation to end the Naga political issue.

It was the second meeting in a week, as Mishra and NSCN (IM) General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah had an informal talk at the NSCN’s camp in Hebron on Tuesday.

A reliable source informed this newspaper that Friday’s meeting was focused on finding a way to bring a solution to the protracted Naga political issue at the earliest as the talks had dragged on for too long and people were becoming impatient.

The source added that the meeting lasted for more than an hour and the NSCN (IM)’s team was led by Chief Negotiator Muivah. However, it refused to divulge details about the outcome of meeting.

The meeting between Mishra and NSCN (IM) will continue today, Saturday at the same venue, informed the source.

The Centre’s interlocutor, who arrived in the earlier this week, had met with the leaders of Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPG) at Chümoukedima Police Complex on Thursday, a day after meeting church leaders and civil society organisations.
