Dimapur, Jan. 17 (EMN): Three days after Sony launched the PC port of its popular God of War PlayStation game on Steam, the game has been received with overwhelming positive reviews and it has unsurprisingly become Sony’s biggest PC launch to date.

According to data from SteamDB, on January 16, God of War saw 73,529 concurrent players on the Steam platform, the highest peak of concurrent players ever for a Sony PlayStation PC port.

In comparison, Sony’s previous PC ports including Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone did not manage to go past 70,000 concurrent players. Horizon Zero Dawn garnered a peak of over 50,000, while Days Gone managed to garner a peak of over 27,000 players.

At the time of writing this article, the game has garnered an impressive 97% “overwhelmingly positive” rating on Steam. Considering that the game had launched four years ago, this goes to show how an amazing port can breathe new life to an old game.

We did get our hands on the PC port the day it launched and we can confirm that Jetpack Interactive and Santa Monica Studio has done an outstanding job. We have to point out that the game costs INR 3,299 on Steam for Indian players, which is quite a lot, however, we can say with absolute confidence that the game quality and game experience is well worth the price.

For instance, we ran the game on a Ryzen 7 5600G with 16GB of RAM and managed to squeeze out a consistent 30FPS gameplay on 1080p with FSR enabled.

We are genuinely impressed at the performance of the game and hope that its popularity will bring more PlayStation titles to the PC.

God of War is now available for purchase on Steam for INR 3,299. Get your hands on one as soon as possible, boy!
