Dimapur, April 28 (EMN): Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company Limited conducted a free health camp cum Beneficiary Identification System (BIS) drive from the State Health Agency (AN-PMJAY), Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, at Mt. Hermon School in Pongo village on April 26.
In a short programme organised in the school premises, Dr. Kika Longkumer, State Programme Officer (AB-PMJAY), highlighted on the importance of the BIS drive- the documents required for the registration, how to go about it, benefits and features of the scheme and the guidelines. The BIS drive also offered a hands-on training on BIS for officials of Phom Baptist Christian Association.
During the health camp, NCD screening was conducted and medicines were distributed free of cost besides offering counselling. Dr. Amalendu Ghosh, the team leader of the Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company, was assisted by the MMU and RBSK team from the CMO office, Longleng. Altogether, 426 patients have avail free medical services.
The health camp and the BIS drive was attended by Dr. Kika Longkumer, State Program Officer (AB-PMJAY), Wapang Imchen, Neitshope Shekamo, Dr. Amalendu Ghosh, Longshet- District Co-ordinator of insurance company, Dr. Suimzenla- MO RBSK SHP, Dr. Sentikumla- AYUSH District Hospital, Dr. James Phom- MO Yachem PHC, Ayep-Lab Technician from District Hospital, along with nurses Tongpangtula, Owyau, and Chonbeni.
The chairman and members of the village council, church leaders, officials of the Pongo Students’ Union, staff from the Pongo sub-centre also attended the health camp.
