Four hurt in hand grenade blast in Manipur

IMPHAL, February 11

Four members including three of a family and a woman were wounded when a hand grenade went-off at a house at Yumnam Khunou under Sagolmang police station of Imphal East district in a mysterious circumstance.
All the four wounded persons were rushed to JNIMS hospital, Imphal where condition of one of the injured person, identified as Laishram Pilot (24) was stated to serious. Other injured persons were identified as Laisharm Jina Devi wife of the injured Pilot, Taorem Suresh Singh (15) son of T Binoy and Laishram Ishwarchandra (13) son of L Nanao.
Pilot and his wife, Jina sustained injuries on their right hand, left abdomen, left leg and right foot while Suraj was wounded on his left and right arm, both side of chest and stomach.
A police report said that the hand grenade was exploded around 11.30 am at the front courtyard of Laishram Saratchandra, who is a farmer.
Police was yet to know the origin of the bomb. Investigation was on to know the origin of the bomb.
Local reports said that the hand grenade was collected by a woman of the village without knowing it was hand grenade and placed before the boys who were together with Pilot.
When of the boy hit to the unknown thing, it was exploded all of sudden injuring the four where nearby.
