For safety measures, Kuda Village in Dimapur installs CCTV cameras

Dimapur, June 29: Dimapur town appears to be stepping up its security and vigilance not just in the main commercial hub. Kuda Village has recently taken an initiative to make its locality safer and a lot more secure.
The president of Kuda Youth Club (KYC), Vikeduo Linyü informed that 39 close circuit television (CCTV) cameras have been installed in Kuda Village in Nagarjan, Dimapur and has been functioning successfully for over a week.
Linyü informed that three CCTV cameras have been installed in each of the main junctions of the village.
“We took the decision to install the CCTV cameras in Kuda Village since there were so many incidents and we wanted to control it while securing the village,” said Linyü adding that extortion and hit-and-run cases were most common in the area.
He further stated that the donations for the CCTV cameras were contributed by residents, well-wishers as well as shop owners in the village. A total of INR 2,50,000 was spent on purchasing the cameras, he informed.
