Dimapur, Jan. 28 (EMN): The first All Nagaland Inter-Colleges Sports and Literary meet got underway on Tuesday, January 28 at Tetso College in Dimapur. The two-day event is organised by the Private Colleges Association of Nagaland (PCAN).

Speaking at the inaugural function, the president of PCAN Dr. PS Lorin said that the reason behind organising the event was not just to prove that colleges can shoulder these kinds of responsibility, but mainly to show the students the unity the private colleges have between them.

Lorin said that the association were preparing for a bigger and better event in the coming days and urged the students to participate both in the field of literary and sports.

The games included in the event are basketball (men and women), volleyball (men and women), table tennis (singles and doubles), badminton (singles and doubles) and staff inter-colleges badminton doubles.

In the literary section, the competition included extempore speech and debate, under the topic ‘ the adoption of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019 is a positive step for India’.

Altogether 19 colleges from the state participated in the first day of the event.

The final matches of all the game (given above) will be played on the last day of the event.
