Fire burns down garage at Chümoukedima

Dimapur, July 10 (EMN): In a delayed report, one garage was razed to the ground by a fire near Bamboo Resource Centre at 6th Mile, Chümoukedima, around 6:59 pm on Saturday.
Officer in-charge of Fire Station, Chümoukedima, Neiketou Sopfu informed Eastern Mirror that two fire tenders were pressed into service, which doused the fire within 45 minutes.
Sopfu informed that one gypsy, which was parked in the garage, was completed burned by the inferno. However, timely intervention by the fire tenders controlled the fire and prevented it from spreading to the adjoining building.
The officer in-charge also informed that the loss of properties was estimated to be around INR 8 lakh. The cause of fire was suspected to be an electric short circuit, he said and added that no casualty was reported.
