The 1st Faith in Action Taekwondo Championship will be held at Honoli Memorial School Dimapur on September 13 and 14. An estimate of 150 taekwondo players, 20 officials and 20 volunteers will take part in the championship. Taekwondo players from Livingstone Foundation School, St. Thomas School, Hope Academy, Honili Memorial School, Dimapur Club, Faith in Action Academy and Nizuto Taekwondo Academy has already confirmed their participation in the championship.
The championship is aimed at honing the talents of budding martial artists, especially girls for self defence stated a release received here. Medals will be awarded to the top four athletes in all the weight categories. Team champions for top two teams with maximum gold medals will receive trophies and certificates and the best discipline team will also be awarded. Best fighter for both boys and girls category, best referee and officials will be awarded.
The medals winner of the championship will be selected to represent the state in the forthcoming Korean Ambassador’s kukkiwon Cup-India Open national Taekwondo Championship to be held at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi from October 4 to 4. The championship is organized by Korean Cultural Centre India, Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Promoted by kukkiwon, World Taekwondo Headquarter and sponsored by Hyundai Motors, LG, Samsung, Posco and Star CJ.
