Excise department seizes 1097 bottles of IMFL in Dimapur

Dimapur, March 9 (EMN): The office of the superintendent of Excise and Prohibition, Dimapur, has informed that the department seized 1097 bottles of assorted IMFL in two days.

In a press release issued on Monday, the department informed that its personnel manning the Chümoukedima excise gate recovered 388 bottles of assorted IMFL from a vehicle on March 9, and one Aren from Kohima town was arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the NLTP Act 1989.

On investigation, the accused disclosed that the consignment was purchased at Lahorijan, Assam and was meant for sale at Kohima.

 In another update, the department stated that its quad seized 709 bottles of assorted liquor from two locations on March 7 and two persons have been arrested and booked under the NLTP Act, 1989 in this connection. Warning that anybody indulging in illegal sale of liquor will be dealt with as per the law, the department has also requested the citizens to help curb the sales of liquor by reporting any activities related to illegal sale of alcohol.
