Dimapur, April 26 (EMN): The Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) has opposed the appointment of seven posts out of the 120 newly created under the directorate of Higher Education on August 24, 2018.

In a statement issued on Friday, the union asked the Manpower Rationalisation Committee (MRC) and the department of Higher Education on what ground, criteria, eligibility, and merit were the new seven posts appointed.

“Is it the directive of the MRC to deprive the BT reservation policy while appointing the seven posts? What basis or law were adopted by the department for the appointment of seven posts from the 120 posts?” it asked.

The union expressed dismay at what it claimed was manipulation by the MRC and the department of Higher Education to ‘deprive and discriminate the BT job reservation policy without any logic and concrete authentication.’

It demanded that the department declare the seven appointments null and void. “Meanwhile, ENCSU insist on the state government and the department to strictly adhere and implement BT reservation without any lapses and deprivation. Hence, if the department concerned fail to adhere to this notification/office memorandum, the department itself should know that by its action it invites its own situation,” the statement read.
