Dimapur, Feb. 24 (EMN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has served a 30-day ultimatum to the state government to address its demand ‘to include all the exempted departments and posts under the ambit of Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) without any exceptions’.

Failing to fulfil its charter of demands within the deadline (w.e.f from date of submission of letter), the federation said it will be “propelled to launch another indefinite agitation” and the government will be held responsible in the event of any unfortunate incident.

In the letter addressed to the chief minister, the ENSF said that the NSSB 2020 doesn’t serve the interest of the aspirants in its present form and its purpose will be defeated even before it starts functioning.

It stated that a Cabinet Sub-Committee was constituted to look into the matter after numerous representations and agitation but the result was lukewarm.

“In spite of the federation’s firm stand against the NSSB in its present form, the P&AR department came up with the advertisement for the post of Chairman and member of NSSBm superseding and suppressing the interest of the Nagas which is a blatant insult to the federation in particular and the aspirant Nagas in general. The same was done for the post of Secretary Cum-Controller of examination,” read the letter.

The federation went on to state that it won’t “accept the functioning of NSSB in its present form”.
