Dry weather expected in Nagaland, other Northeast states next few days

An intense western disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from January 20 to the 26th and the plains of northwest India from January 23 to the 26th.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, light snow / rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in the upper reaches of Arunachal Pradesh and weather is likely to remain dry over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

It added that shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at isolated pockets over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on January 20.

On January 21, light rain is very likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh and weather is likely to remain dry over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, while shallow to moderate fog is very likely at isolated pockets over these states.

For the remaining days from January 22 till the 24th, the weather is likely to remain dry over the north-eastern states, except Sikkim, according to IMD.

In Nagaland, dry weather with shallow to moderate fog is very likely in Phek, Kiphire and Tuensang districts, while Mokokchung and Mon districts are likely to experience dry weather with shallow fog. The remaining districts are most like to experience dry weather on January 20.

Over the next three days (January 21 to the 23rd), Nagaland state is most likely to remain dry weather, according to the forecast.
