Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): The District Hospital Dimapur (DHD) has announced that it will resume non-Covid healthcare services from September 21.

Medical superintendent Keveduyi Theyo informed this in a press release on Wednesday.

Registration for essential services (non-Covid) will be operational at the new designated registration counter while the flu corner will be functional from the new designated site at Covid block, it informed.

It also informed that screening and safety measures of all the patients will be strictly implemented according to the guidelines and standard operating procedure in order to reduce the potential risk of exposure to the workforce and to ensure the safety of all the patients and attendants.

Services to patients requiring operations will be given priority for the time being, considering the limited number of beds available due to separation of Covid and non-Covid blocks, it stated.

The ART plus centre which is temporarily located at Macrofed building, opposite Fire Brigade Station and district mental health programme temporarily functioning in the Urban Public Health Centre Duncan Bosti will start rendering services from the designated site at DHD, it informed.

In view of the shortage of manpower, 24 hours duty staff on rotation will attend to all the patients seeking essential or emergency services from the non-Covid block.

All patients seeking medical services are required to present identification proof to ascertain the place of origin as precautionary measure due to the ongoing Covid -19 pandemic. The patient will be accompanied by only two attendants without any exception, it informed.

All patients and attendants will strictly follow the safety protocol such as wearing face masks at all times, maintain social distancing, hand washing and use of hand sanitisers to check the spread of Covid-19 infection.
