Dimapur, March 27 (EMN): Judge of Gauhati High Court, Justice Songkhupchung Serto, inaugurated a new district court complex in Zunheboto district on March 26 in the presence of Justice Kakheto Sema and the commissioner and secretary of Justice and Law, Abhijit Sinha.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Serto thanked the Ministry of Justice and Law for financing the construction and to the executing department, CAWD. He also lauded the efforts put in by the contractor in completing the building at the scheduled time.
‘Where there is no justice, there is no peace,’ a DIPR report has quoted him as saying during the programme. Terming the court as a device to act as mediator and to deliver justice, he stated that each and every dispute, whether high valued or small, needs to be resolved.
Pointing out that laws keep on changing as per the needs of the society, he urged the public to accept changes. He further appealed to the public to protect and nurture the institution for their benefits.
Also speaking on the occasion, Kakheto has appealed to the commissioner and secretary to apprise the government of the immediate requirement of Zunheboto district court for posting a chief judicial magistrate.
With the inauguration of a new court complex, Abhijit Sinha informed that Zunheboto has now become the 8th district to have a separate court complex.
Speaking on behalf of Nagaland Bar Association, its president, Akito Zhimomi, has stressed on the need to have a separate high court for Nagaland.
