Dimapur Municipal Council employees temporarily suspend proposed agitation
Dimapur, Nov. 7 (EMN): The Dimapur Municipal Council Employees’ Welfare Union (DMCEWU) has temporarily suspended the proposed “no pay no work” agitation till November 15 following the “assurance” given by the government of Nagaland.
This was resolved during an emergency meeting held at the DMC office premises on Monday.
DMCEWU further resolved to go for “indefinite agitation” if the government fails to fulfill its demand, an update from the union stated.
“It also resolved not to entertain any kind of request or appeal, which stands final and binding,” it added.
The DMCEWU had last decided to temporarily suspend its agitation following an emergency meeting convened on October 26 after receiving a letter from the Municipal Affairs department of the state government. It updated that the agitation had been kept in abeyance till November 8 but would go for an indefinite agitation if the government fails to fulfill its demand within the stipulated period.
