DIMAPUR — The Dimapur district Excise duty party on July 29 intercepted a goods carrier truck bearing Regd. No. UP 32 ATG 2668 at Jharnapani, Chümoukedima and recovered 415 cases of assorted IMFL concealed under sacks of potatoes.
The recovery was made based on a tip-off while the Excise party was conducting MVCP, stated an update from the Superintendent of Excise and Prohibition, Dimapur.
During investigation, it was revealed that the contraband IMFL was loaded from Banderdewa, Arunachal Pradesh.
In this connection, one accused Md. Imamul Islam (26 years), son of Md. Soukat Ali and a resident of Burma Camp, Dimapur, was arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the NLTP ACT 89‘. The case is presently under investigation, it stated.
