Dimapur, Oct. 9 (EMN): The Civil Society Organisations’ Core Committee against shifting of Deputy Commissioner Office, Dimapur, has said that it wants a written notification from the state government on cancellation of the Home department’s order and “not a stay order”.
It also demanded that the headquarters’ tag of the new complex at Chümoukedima be removed.
Speaking to journalists on Saturday, the spokesperson of the core committee said that they have not received any official notification from the government on the matter despite communicating their demands to the Chief Minister through an ultimatum.
He said that they would continue the agitation and even intensify till the government cancels the order through an official notification.
He said that they would wait till October 11 for the government to respond to their demands.
The spokesperson went on to state that the present DC office has sufficient space and functioning well. What has to be done with the new DC building is not our concern, he added.
It may be mentioned that the Home department had informed earlier that the state government had decided to put its recent order for ‘shifting of branches/cells to new Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, Chümoukedima’ on hold following protest by various organisations.
