Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry condemns firing incident that injured one person

Dimapur, Aug. 27 (EMN): The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) on Saturday condemned the firing incident on August 26 in which an employee of TS Goods Carrier located at Kalibari Road in Dimapur, near the DMC office, sustained injuries.

In a press statement, DCCI said that the incident took place at around 7 pm on Friday when three unidentified miscreants on a motorcycle “resorted to blank firing” (opened fire) at the employees, who were inside the office.

It said that that five rounds were shot, which landed on the glass pane and plywood of the office. One of the employees sustained injuries in the neck, it added.

“If the same trend continues unabated, it will be difficult for the transporters to bring in their goods to Nagaland,” read the statement.

DCCI further urged the law enforcing agencies to investigate the matter, book the culprits and award befitting punishment as a deterrent to future incidents, it added.
