Dimapur, Oct. 2: Dimapur Bongs, an association of Hindu Bengali youths, undertook a street beautification and wall painting drive along the Kali Bari road in celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The inaugural programme was held at the Dimapur Bongs office at Kali Bari Road, on October 2 in Dimapur.
Speaking as the chief guest of the event, the administrator of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) Albert Ezung lauded the Dimapur Bongs for the good work that they were doing for the community.

Ezung pointed out that the rapid transformation of Dimapur in terms of urbanisation, population growth, and commercialisation has brought many challenges to the urban area which he said need to be tackled collectively.

“We have DMC and other organisations but to address the many challenges which Dimapur city faces, the need of the hour is the participation and cooperation of the community,” Ezung stated.

While lauding the work done by the Dimapur Bongs, he urged them to try and commit to making the Kali Bari road a garbage-free road too.
